For CO₂ Providers

Gas Cleaning & Upgrading

Turn your CO₂ emissions into a long-term revenue stream. ICODOS designs, builds, funds, and operates a modular e-methanol plant at your site — with no capital outlay and no disruption to your operations.

Biogas plants

What You Get

The case for hosting an ICODOS plant

0

capex required from you

ICODOS funds, builds, owns, and operates the plant end-to-end — you provide access to your CO₂ stream, not capital.

>20yrs

of recurring revenue

A long-term, offtake-style contract pays you for metered CO₂ — typically for 20 years or more.

>28M€

in funding secured

Backed by private investors and public grants, including Horizon Europe — a funded company, not just a pitch.

CO₂ source

feedstock flexibility

Our capture runs on raw, unpurified off-gas — a wide range of CO₂ streams and compositions, from dilute flue gas to concentrated biogenic sources.

S–L

size flexibility

We build plants in multiple sizes — from Plant S to Plant L — matched to the volume of your CO₂ stream.

CO₂ Sources We Work With

If you emit CO₂, we probably want to talk

ICODOS captures CO₂ at its source and converts it into certified green e-methanol on site. Three types of point sources we work with:

Wastewater treatment plant

Biogas & Wastewater

From agricultural biogas to sewage-sludge digestion at wastewater treatment plants, ICODOS captures the CO₂ already in your biogas stream — cutting operating costs by an estimated 10–30% for wastewater treatment hosts, at no cost to you.

Biomass and waste-to-energy plant

Biomass & Waste-to-Energy

Biomass combustion, combined heat and power, pulp and paper black-liquor boilers, and waste-to-energy plants all produce a steady, concentrated CO₂ stream ICODOS can capture and convert on site.

Industrial point-source emitter

Industrial Point Sources

Cement, steel, refineries, and other chemical-process emitters can host an ICODOS plant too. Our technology is built for flexibility, not purity — it runs on raw, non-purified offgas.

What We Look For

Does your site qualify?

These are the general criteria we screen against — exact numbers scale with plant size. If you're roughly in this range, it's worth a conversation.

CO₂ stream

3,000–50,000+ t/year

From biogenic sources, typically ≥8% vol CO₂ concentration in the offgas — our technology can run on as little as 2% vol.

Land

~2,500–10,000 m²

Adjacent or nearby industrial land, ideally within about 1 km of your CO₂ source.

Utilities

Grid + water access

A grid connection scaled to plant size, access to renewable power, and water supply — tens of thousands of m³/year for larger plants.

Commitment

10+ years

Stable source operation (300+ days/year) and willingness to provide long-term access to your CO₂ stream.

Sized to Your Source

Two plant sizes, matched to your CO₂ stream

Plant S

3,000–5,000 t/year CO₂ processed

Our entry-level co-located plant — sized for a single mid-size CO₂ source, like one biogas facility or industrial site.

Plant M

30,000–50,000 t/year CO₂ processed

Our large-scale co-located plant — sized for a major industrial CO₂ source or an aggregated cluster of sources.

Proven, Not Theoretical

From validated pilot to host partnerships

Every stage of our process has already been demonstrated — backed by more than €28M in private and public funding, including Horizon Europe. Hosting an ICODOS plant is a scale-up of what's running today, not a bet on what might work.

2019–2023

Lab & pilot validation

The patented hybrid process was proven at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT).

2024–2025

Mannheim 001

The world's first fully integrated, automated, dynamically operated e-methanol plant — built and validated end-to-end with KIT and EBS Mannheim, running on a real industrial CO₂ source.

2026

POSEIDON demonstration

A 15× scale-up toward commercial volumes, backed by a €10M Horizon Europe grant.

Toward 2028

First host partnerships

Our first Plant S-class commercial projects are advancing toward final investment decision in Germany and Spain — early conversations are already shaping which sites secure a partnership first.

2030s

Global, standardized roll-out

Plant S and Plant M replicate globally, with a larger Plant L already in planning — building toward more than 5 million tonnes of annual e-methanol capacity.

How It Works

A direct, transparent process

No commitment, no financial risk, no wasted time — a structured process designed to give you a clear answer.

  1. Step 1

    Screening call

About an hour of your time. We review your CO₂ source and site — at ICODOS's own cost and risk, with no commitment required.

  2. Step 2

    Data exchange & feasibility study

Under NDA, you share basic site and CO₂ data. ICODOS fully funds the mass-and-energy balance, CAPEX estimate, and feasibility study — free to you.

  3. Step 3

    Memorandum of understanding

If the evaluation is positive, we formalize the exploration and agree on a development model together.

  4. Step 4

    Construction & long-term partnership

ICODOS funds, builds, and commissions the plant. Recurring revenue begins — and continues for 20+ years.

Why ICODOS

Built to take on the capital and the risk

  1. 01

We take on the capital and the risk

ICODOS funds, builds, owns, and operates every plant. You provide access to your CO₂ stream — not capital, and not operational burden.

  2. 02

A process built for flexibility, not purity

Our patented hybrid process runs on raw, non-purified offgas with as little as 2% CO₂ by volume, so your site doesn't need to change to fit our technology.

  3. 03

    Modular plants, faster to revenue

Pre-fabricated, standardized Plant S and Plant M designs cut typical project timelines by more than 12 months, so your recurring revenue starts sooner.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

  • What does ICODOS ask of us?

Access to your CO₂ stream and the site data needed for engineering and permitting. ICODOS funds, builds, owns, and operates the plant — there's no capital outlay or operational change required on your side.

  • What do you look for in a CO₂ source?

Sources like biogas plants, wastewater treatment plants, biomass and waste-to-energy facilities, and other industrial emitters — typically with a CO₂ concentration of 8% or more by volume, though our technology can process streams with as little as 2%.

  • What do we get in return?

A long-term, offtake-style contract that pays you for metered CO₂, typically for 20 years or more, with no disruption to your existing operations.

  • How long before we know if our site qualifies?

A screening call and a fully ICODOS-funded feasibility study — typically weeks, not months — tell you whether your site is a fit, at no cost or commitment to you.

  • Do you work with wastewater treatment plants specifically?

Yes — wastewater treatment plants are one of our core partner segments. Beyond the CO₂ offtake revenue, hosting an ICODOS plant can reduce a plant's own operating costs by an estimated 10–30%.

  • Can we invest in or eventually own the plant?

Ownership structures are discussed case by case — some partners choose to co-invest in or acquire their plant over time. Let's talk about what fits your site.
