Riyadh, December 4, 2024 – ICODOS is proud to announce its recognition as one of the 11 Top Innovators in the Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) Challenge, organized by the World Economic Forum’s innovation platform, UpLink. The winners were unveiled during the opening ceremony of the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI) Forum 2024, held in conjunction with COP16 in Riyadh, by HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, Minister of Energy, and HE Faisal Alibrahim, Minister of Economy and Planning.
ICODOS’ hybrid carbon capture and utilization technology stood out for its potential to revolutionize industrial decarbonization by converting captured CO2 into sustainable methanol. “We are honored to be recognized as a Top Innovator by the World Economic Forum and its partners. This award underscores the transformative potential of ICODOS technology to create sustainable solutions for industrial decarbonization,” said David Strittmatter, Co-Founder & CEO of ICODOS.
The CCU Challenge is supported by a coalition of partners, including the Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP Saudi), Ministry of Energy, King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), aramco, SABIC, AEON Collective, Global CO2 Initiative, and the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability.
